How to add things to my Amazon wish list from other websites
Jun 5, 2023
Up until March 2023, you could add items to your Amazon List from other websites using the Amazon Assistant Chrome addon or Add to Amazon Wish List Chrome addon. However, this is no longer the case as Amazon has decommissioned this service.
Like all Chrome extensions, you were able to access these tools while browsing other websites and add the products you liked to your Amazon list.
Adding items from other stores was a popular feature for people that wanted to compare the prices of items on other websites to the same or similar items on Amazon. It also meant you could make and share gift lists that included items from many different stores.
While Amazon does not offer this functionality any more there are other tools that do.
Can I still add items to my Amazon wish lists from other sites?
No, not anymore.
If you've saved products from other stores in the past, they will still be there, but you will not be able to add new items from outside of Amazon to your lists - this is explained in more detail here.
Fear not though! There are many free universal wishlist tools that enable you to save items from any store in the world (including Amazon) and make wish lists and registries to share with family and friends.
You may actually find that this is a blessing in disguise.
Here is an in-depth review of the 8 most popular wishlist-making tools as alternatives to Amazon.
How to make a wishlist that includes products from multiple sites
Universal wishlist-making tools are great for keeping track of everything you are shopping for in one place and creating gift registries that are not limited to pre-selected brands or platforms.
Here is how to make yours:
Choose one of the free wishlist-making tools (my in-depth review found Moonsift was best for Chrome & iOS and Giftster was best for Android: read the full write-up here)
Create a free account and add the extension to your browser (Chrome extensions work on most browsers other than Safari)
Simply browse whichever shopping sites you like and click the extension whenever you find an item you like the look of.
With tools like Moonsift, you can make personal wishlists that help you keep track of what you're personally considering buying as well as gift registries that you share with people that would like to buy you a gift. The main difference with a gift registry is the people you share your registry with will be able to mark off what they buy to avoid any double-ups.
Here is an example of what your personal wishlist might look like.
